This is the most modern minting unit in the country equipped with
State of Art facilities on the lines of International standards and
is one of Asia’s biggest Mints having refining facility as well as
facility to mint coins, medals and medallion.
Functions
It is the sovereign function of the Mints to produce coins of all
denominations for circulation as per the directives issued from the
Government of India from time to time. The functions of Mint are:

Manufacture and supply of coins to the Reserve bank of India

Producing
medals for various Government departments, Universities,
defence organizations and reputed temples etc.

Assays on
precious metals received from Government Departments and
also from the public.

Receiving, redeeming, and processing mutilated coins
Products
Coins:
Rs.5/-, Rs.2/-, Rs.1/- and 50paise denomination Coins are minted
here. Mint ensures good quality coins are supplied to Reserve Bank
of India.
Commercial Activities
The Mint also manufactures medals, medallions, seals and tokens for
private and public sector organization besides our regular coinage
production.
Activities
The skills of our Engravers make essence of coin and medal
making highly appreciable. The inception of modern techniques by
using sophisticated machines like LANG machine is an added advantage
to our master craftsman to produce high quality medallions.
Silver dollars of 10gms & 5 Grams of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams,
Medallions of Osmania University, JNTU University, Andhra
University, Central University, Agricultural University and Local
bodies, Special seal, Bank tokens and Police Gallantry Awards are
few examples of our craftsmanship.
The medals, badges and tokens for Ministry of Home Affairs,
educational institutions, social service organizations and
production of Medallions for Film Festivals are also the pride of
Hyderabad Mint.
New addition in this Mint is refining of gold tendered by licensed
dealers into gold bars of 999.99 fineness.
